Who is coach Lauryn?

Lauryn Pehanich is an experienced soccer coach with a strong background in collegiate, club, and professional soccer. She became the head women’s soccer coach at the University of La Verne in 2013 and quickly established a culture of growth and competitiveness within the program. Throughout her tenure, she has helped develop numerous student-athletes who have earned conference and regional recognition while fostering success both on and off the field. 

Prior to joining La Verne, Pehanich spent several years as an assistant coach at California State University, Fullerton, her alma mater. In that role, she played a key part in recruiting top talent, directing training sessions, and overseeing program operations. Her coaching experience also includes leadership positions at the club and high school levels, where she worked extensively in player development and team management. 

Throughout her collegiate tenure, Pehanich also worked with the youth, coaching at her Alma Mater, Troy High School, and at the club level, coaching at AC Brea and La Premier. 

As a player, Pehanich enjoyed a distinguished collegiate career as a four-year starter for the Div 1 Titans, earning multiple conference honors and establishing herself as one of the program’s standout performers. She later continued her playing career professionally in Germany, competing for FC Gütersloh 2000. 

Pehanich earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in sports psychology from California State University, Fullerton. Her passion for leadership, athlete development, and education has been the foundation of a successful coaching career dedicated to helping young women reach their full potential. 

Lauryn and her husband, Joe, are proud parents of three children and enjoy supporting youth sports and family activities together.
